In accordance with the Act no. 5, item 5 of 12 September 2002 on Standardization (Journal of Laws No. 169, item 1386), Polish Standards are protected by copyright law as literary works and their proprietary copyrights are owned by National Standards Body (Polish Committee for Standadization- PKN). Publishing and circulating of the Polish Standards in any form (paper or electronic) requires PKN permission. Polish Standards and other standardization products are marked with a hologram and a watermark. Publishing documents without the PKN marking is against the law, and the information included in such documents may be incomplete or invalid.
The violation of PKN rights is illegal and is subject to criminal penalty in accordance with the Act of 4 February 1994 on copyrights and the like, and is subject to criminal responsibility.
